Hi everyone it’s been a really exiting few weeks for me in the run up to the british just 2 weeks before I had an injury scare with my back after landing short from bars. I have been to see a physio at Loughborough and had an MRI scan which showed an old injury and a facet impaction injury.
I desperately wanted to compete as I had worked so hard so after 5 days of rest and some changes to my routines I was being extra careful to keep my back tight not to make it hurt. Podium training was the first time going through full routines, I did one routine on each piece and after that I felt happy with my routines and knew I was as prepared as I could be with the routines that I had. Next day it was the competition and I was really excited, I knew that the preparation had gone well and even with the time out for my injury my routines were strong and stable. Waiting to go I realised the BBC were there and that was quite scary. So this was it I was on first round and started on vault, piece by piece I was feeling really pleased with my performance and was feeling confident that I was in a good position, I knew I was in first place after round one but the major competition was still to come and I had to sit through 3 hours before I knew whether or not I had done enough. After the second round had finished I had no idea what position I was in, when the results were delivered I couldn’t believe it I was so happy I didn’t know how to react . Gymnastics is one of the toughest sports out there and we all know that to be in with a chance to win you need to go clean. Winning my first ever white sweatshirt was such an experience, and one I never want to forget. All the other girls in my group were so happy for me and it made all the hard work tears and determination worth while.
But it wasn’t over yet as I still had apparatus finals to go. Sunday morning a great day yesterday as Becky my friend and training partner won the juniors so Notts was a really happy camp. During warm up my back was niggling a bit and after warming up vault it really started to hurt. I competed floor and came 2nd then to vault where I came 3rd but landed awkwardly and jarred my back. The physio and claire both decided that it was better to pull out of the other 2 finals rather than aggravate my injury, I was bitterly disappointed as bars and beam are my strongest pieces.
I had a fantastic weekend at the British and straight after I went on holiday to St Tropez where I had to have complete rest for 2 weeks with a little conditioning.
I am now back in the gym and going through a rehabilitation programme to strengthen my back.
I would like to thank my coaches Claire Starkey and Ian Kime for there support in the run up to and during the British without them I would not have won. And my parents who sacrifice so much to keep me in the sport. I would also like to thank the EIS physio team who are working with me to rehabilitate they have been excellent.

JUNE 2006
Hi this is Jordan, sorry I have not written in a while but I've been really busy. First I had British Schools back in March and I came joint 5th after a few errors on bars .
The weekend later I was selected to represent Great Britain against Italy. Being the youngest member of the team it was a bit scary but everyone in the team was really nice and we all got along really well, even though Italy beat Great Britain it was a good weekend overall for me. I came 7th in the all around and in the finals I came 6th on vault and 4th on floor. I was really proud to represent my country and hope to get the opportunity again soon.
Next up was British Teams, it was really nerve racking as we desperately wanted to hold onto the silver medal from the year before, but it was not to be. Heathrow put in a really strong performance with Liverpool coming 2nd and Nott’s coming 3rd still a good result as we are a very young team.
I'm now in full training for the British in a few weeks, training is getting harder and harder as we work to put new routines together and increase my stamina training to make sure I am competition fit.
Please visit my guestbook and leave me a message. Thanks for visiting my site, I will write again soon.
See you soon

JULY 2005
When I was getting ready to march on to the floor for my very first British championships I was very exited but also nervous at the same time. My first piece was the beam, which is usually a quite strong piece for me, but unfortunately I was unable to stay on two of the elements in my routine the ½ turning flic and the flic layout other than that the rest of my beam was stable. Next it was the floor one of the pieces I enjoy because I love dancing and being able to do nice tumbles but surprisingly to myself I fell on my second tumble 2 ½ twist backwards. Then I moved on to vault not one of my best pieces but managed a nice straight yurchenko and a stable pike yurchenko qualifying me for the vault final. Lastly I went on to compete on the bars where I really hoped on getting through my routine I managed a clean and tidy routine, which placed me in the bars final.
At the finals I was competing vault first and I managed two clean vaults again and I improved on my score from the all around championships. Then on the bars I did not manage the same clean routine as the all around championship as I fell on my tkethev.. Over all in that weekend I placed 5th in Britain for the espior category being one of the youngest competing it was a good result with my team mates Becky Downie and Laura Jones placed Becky 1st and Laura 2nd.
