In April 1997, advanced gymnasts from Notts Bigwood and Rushcliffe Gymnastics Club joined forces to share the newly built East Midlands Gymnastics Centre facility at Rushcliffe Leisure Centre in Nottingham.
Under the leadership of Director of Coaching, Claire Starkey, the new Notts Gymnastics Cub has gone from strength to strength. Claire and her team of dedicated coaches have nurtured such talents as Olympic team member Amy Dodsley and Commonwealth Bronze Medallist Becky Downie.
Jordan trains along side a very exciting and talented team of gymnasts, who stormed to victory at the 2007 British Team Championships, claiming the title for Notts. Jordan's team mates include British Junior Champion Becky Downie, British Junior Beam Champ Laura Jones and 2007 Espoir silver medallist Niamh Rippin. All of these girls have represented Great Britain internationally.
Notts Gym Club now has over 80 members and the standard varies from youngsters who enjoy a fun session twice a week to introduce them gently into the world of competitive gymnastics to gymnasts who train for over 25 hours per week and compete for British titles. Details of the different sessions can be obtained from the reception desk at the Rushcliffe Leisure Centre Tel. 0115 9234921
